Did you know that Armenian painters
who were born and raised in
Anatolia, but hardly known in Turkey, have greatly contributed
to the
development of the Ottoman painting art...? I learned that from
the book
entitled
"Armenian Painting" authored by Mayda Saris. . .
Congratulations to
Mayda Saris for her valuable work which helps us to get
acquainted with
our mutual culture. |

“Mayda Saris' book was like a second drop
of water fallen last winter on the arid fields of art
publications...”
"To bridge the historical gap was the moral obligation and the
duty of the Armenians from Turkey", says Mayda Saris.
The large size book is printed in color and consists of seven
chapters. |

There are certain information very
hard to obtain and we wish someone
to compile them and put together for us. Mayda Saris is the name
who
made the dreams of the people involved come true. At the end of
a voyage
accompanied by dusty books and magazines she authored the book
entitled
"Armenian Painting From the Beginning to the Present " and
brought to
light an important chapter of the art history. |

Mayda Saris' book helps us to become
better acquainted with the
generations of Armenian artists, and in the meantime fills a
void in the art
libraries. Index of the names and the bibliography at the end of
the
book give this work an even more serious dimension. |
